Composition Gold Leaf, also referred to as Imitation Gold Leaf, Dutch Gold, Dutch Metal and Schlagmetal, is imitation gold leaf made from brass, a combination of copper and zinc. Composition Leaf will tarnish and requires a protective sealer upon completion of gilded surface. Each pack of leaf contains 20 books. Each book contains 25 lvs, with a total of 500 leaves. Each leaf is 5.5" x 5.5" square. Approx. coverage is 100 sqft per pack. We offer a variety of leaf colors to suit the needs of your specific project.

Loose leaf - A book of loose leaf is assembled by placing each piece of imitation gold leaf between pieces of thin rouged paper. The gilder can then remove one leaf at a time without disturbing the remaining leaves. It is removed from the book with a gilder's tip, a flat natural hair brush.
