Varnish Brush. Black Chinese Bristle. Made in Germany with a Nickel Plated Ferrule - Natural Polished Handle.

These brushes are ideal for 'burnishing' or 'cleaning-off' genuine and metal leaf surfaces after gilding. Especially soft hairs, these Goat or Squirrel hair brushes do not scratch or dull the leaf surface when using a gentle hand. Also ideally suited for the application of clays, varnishes, oil paints, gold size, shellac and lacquers.

These brushes are made from a wide range of high quality natural hairs. Beveled, tapered or square brushes allow precise application of material, excellent coverage and consistent build-up of material. The square brushes are the applicators of choice for base coats of oil paint, sealers, primers and top coats of glazes.
