What is Patent Leaf?
Patent gold leaf, also called transfer leaf, features gold mounted to tissue paper via a pressure process. Unlike loose leaf, patent leaf stays affixed to its backing until pressed onto your prepared surface, making it perfect for outdoor applications and challenging conditions where loose leaf would be impractical.

Best Uses:
Ideal for flat surfaces and exterior work. Not recommended for water gilding techniques.

Storage & Care:
Patent leaf requires proper humidity control to maintain performance. Store in a damp environment at approximately 80% humidity, wrapped in plastic to prevent moisture fluctuation. If leaf becomes loose in dry conditions, remount by storing under pressure in a humid space. In overly hot, humid conditions, refrigerate or store in a cool, dry location to prevent over-adhesion.
