What is Patent Gold Leaf? Also known as transfer leaf, patent gold is mounted to special tissue paper through a precision pressure process. Each leaf comes pre-positioned between protective rouged paper, allowing you to remove one leaf at a time without disturbing the rest. The tissue backing keeps the leaf secure until application.

Key Advantages Patent leaf requires no gilder's tip for application, making it ideal for outdoor projects and challenging conditions where loose leaf would be impractical. The tissue backing holds the leaf in place until you press it onto your prepared surface and remove the backing. Best suited for flat surfaces and not recommended for water gilding.

Storage & Care Patent leaf is sensitive to temperature and humidity fluctuations. Store in a damp environment at approximately 80% humidity, wrapped in plastic wrap, to maintain the tissue paper's moisture content. If leaf becomes loose from dry storage, remount by storing in a humid environment under pressure. If leaf adheres too tightly from hot, humid conditions, store in a cool, dry place or refrigerator to restore proper handling.
