Ribbon leaf differs from patent leaf in construction: leaves are adhered to continuous lightweight paper using wax rather than pressed onto tissue. The paper backing makes it perfect for smooth applications but limits use in ornate crevices. Each roll contains leaves with 2mm overlaps for seamless coverage.

Store in stable temperature and humidity conditions. Dry, warm environments may loosen the leaf from paper, while hot, humid conditions can cause over-adhesion. Proper storage ensures consistent workability and optimal gilding results.
